Project/Site Engineer

Location: Smithland, Kentucky

Reports to: Assistant Vice President of Hydroelectric Development

Functions:


American Municipal Power-Ohio, Inc., a service provider and wholesale electric power supplier for municipal electric systems, is seeking a Senior Accountant.

 

Essential Functions:

       

·         Manages the production of our high quality service.
 

·         Reviews take-offs with estimating team.

 

·         Manages document control including change orders, billings, field production tracking, purchasing documentation and contract administration.

 

·         Prepares reports and information as requested.

 

·         Coordinates between branch administrative office team, field employees, sales team, estimating team and branch management on a regular basis.

 

·         Works closely with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and employees; ensuring exceptional customer service and quality at all times.

 

·         Oversight of construction activities of the resident engineer (MWH).

 

·         Assists in the construction plan development, selection of engineering consultants and any other related activities associated with civil engineering projects for AMP-Ohio, MESA or their members.

 

·         Oversees the owner’s engineer contract from engineering, design, installation, and testing of hydro turbines and all associated equipment.

 

·         Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budget.

 

·         Monitors activities between the design engineer, the contractor, and member communities. 

 

·         Provides site owner representation during construction.

 

·         Monitors construction activities; reviews progress payments.

 

·         Manages contract documentation and reports.

 

·         Coordinates deliveries and inspections of owner furnished equipment.

 

·         Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 


Skills:

·         Must have a four year degree in civil engineering; or four year degree in any academic major program with demonstrated on the job experience in heavy civil construction.

 

·         Professional Engineer's license preferred. Ideal candidate will have Civil background of 5 years plus experience.

 

·         Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in heavy highway construction or large dam construction.

 

·         Past work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers or large governmental construction projects experience is a plus.

 

·         Must be willing to work outdoors approximately 75% of the time.

 

·         Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

 

·         Must be deadline/critical path oriented and have a strong ability to prioritize.

 

·         Travel may be required up to 50% of the time.

 

·         Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft software; experience with AutoCAD and project planning software applications is preferred.

Mechanical Engineer

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Reports to: Assistant VP of Generation Services

Functions:


American Municipal Power-Ohio, Inc., a service provider and wholesale electric power supplier for municipal electric systems, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will be reporting to the Assistant VP of Generation Services.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  

This entry level position will perform project management for assignments related to the generating unit assets and associated facilities. The position involves providing engineering analysis and research to assist with project development and future generation alternatives, as well as assist with problem solutions associated with AMP-Ohio and Member generation; preparing work scopes, reviews contract terms and conditions, prepares requests for proposals and associated bidding documents, and evaluates bids. Assists with the operation and maintenance of combustion turbine electrical generation equipment and associated facilities; and assists with the procurement, installation, setup and commissioning of remote metering and communication devices to support SCADA system.

 


Skills:


 

  • This is an entry level position. The qualified candidate must have a four year college degree in mechanical engineering. 
     
  • Candidates for this position must have the ability to read basic schematics, be familiar with symbols used in civil, mechanical and electrical diagrams and read/interpret instruction manuals.
     
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of personal computers and related software, including spreadsheet, word processing, scheduling and internet applications.
     
  • Must have good oral, written, and analytical skills.
     
  • Good mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills are a plus. 
     
  • Must be willing to travel approximately 25% of the time. Valid driver’s license required.
     
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to demonstrate physical fitness and maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities which may include walking, standing or bending for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting more than 50 lbs. 
     
  • May be exposed to inclement weather, dirt, dust, fumes and noise; must respond to emergencies.

Oracle Functionalist

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Reports to: Assistant Vice President, Accounting & Financial Reporting

Functions:

American Municipal Power-Ohio, Inc., a service provider and wholesale electric power supplier for municipal electric systems, is seeking an Oracle Functionalist responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting AMP’s Oracle Environment.


Essential Functions:

  • Report customization.
  • Updating/revising workflows within AMP Ohio’s Oracle modules.
  • Developing, testing and implementing enhancements to current Oracle processes under the direction of the Finance Department.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving Oracle user problems with modules, workflows and reports.
  • Developing PL/SQL Procedures, tailoring scripts, testing, SQL queries.
  • Implementing order to workflow.
  • Maintaining a comprehensive library of documentation for Change Management Control, reports, SDLC, and logs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of six years experience in Oracle Applications Functional Design, Setting Up, Development, Customization, Testing, Supporting, Reconciliation Oracle Applications 11i/R12, Oracle Applications release 11.5.3 to 11.5.10.
  • Strong communication and written skills. Must be able to demonstrate both technical writing and business correspondence. Experience developing technical documentation is also required. Highly motivated team player.
  • Sound troubleshooting skills
  • Expertise in RD General Ledger (GL), Accounts Receivables (AR), Order Management (OM), Inventory, Cash Management,(CM), Accounts Payable, (AP), Oracle Purchasing (OP), iExpense, iReceivables, iPayables, iProcurement and System Administration.
  • Experience with SQL Server, Microsoft Access, SQL, BPEL, PL/SQL, C, C++, C#, Visual Basic.NET, Java.
  • Strong skill set in Oracle 9i/10g, Discoverer 4i/10g, BI/XML Publisher, XML Publisher, Developer Suite (Forms 6i and Reports 6i/9i), SQL* Loader, SQL*plus, SQL Loader, SQL Navigator and TOAD.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in writing SQL, PL/SQL Stored Procedures, Packages, Triggers, Functions and Cursors; UNIX Shell Scripting, Java Script, VB Script.
  • Must have comprehensive experience in system development and design, using full life cycle development.
  • Must have successfully performed system evaluation/purchase data evaluation, collection and maintenance activities.
  • Solid experience within Interface Tables.
  • Extensive use of Oracle’s Developer Guide and Oracle Metalink.
  • Experience working in R12.
  • Experience with Windows 9x/2000/XP/Vista/UNIX/Linux (preferred, but not required).
  • Experience in performing Validations using Custom programs and making Custom programs run as Concurrent Programs and fixing bugs.
  • Solid knowledge of Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, extensions (RICE).
  • Experience with business flows such as Order to Cash and Procure to Pay as well as integrating custom workflows.
  • Work on Data Conversion and System Integration from Legacy Systems or external Systems into oracle.
  • Applications using Oracle open Interfaces and Oracle Public APi’s.
