Services - OSHA Compliance

AMP-Ohio’s OSHA Compliance Program, which began on January 1, 2001, is provided on a contractual basis. Currently three safety coordinators serve 29 Members for a total of 39 days per month. The purpose of the OSHA program and General Safety program is to provide and promote high standards of safety. The primary goal is always zero accidents.

The OSHA program builds upon and enhances the general safety program. Under the OSHA program, the overviews and reviews of topics presented to members in general safety meetings are developed into complete policies and procedures. The OSHA program is designed to help Members become fully compliant with all state laws governing the workplace safety of public employees. Compliance with state and federal laws can be a complex task as most OSHA standards and rules require some type of employee training, many OSHA standards and rules require a written program or procedures, and some OSHA standards require maintenance of written records.

Coordinators will work with your community to tailor the program to your individual needs. Coordinators routinely establish safety program guidelines, train staff, identify workplace hazards; develop plans to address any hazardous conditions, plan, organize and conduct monthly safety meetings.

Each participant determines how many days per month they would like to have an OSHA Compliance Coordinator in their community. The program provides training for all departments. You decide who participates - all departments or any combination of departments. All OSHA safety coordinators are approved to provide Ohio EPA contact hours for certification renewal for certified wastewater treatment plant, wastewater collections, water treatment plant, and water distribution system operators.

The fee for participation in this program is $425 per day for contracts that initiate in 2005. Contracts initiated in 2005 will end on 12/31/2005 and renew on an annual basis thereafter.
